Trampolines: what to do in extreme weather conditions?

A trampoline is left outside day and night and has to be able to withstand all kinds of weather conditions. EXIT trampolines are weather proof and are resistant against practically all kinds of weather. However, it is important to take some specific measures in extreme weather conditions:

Let it rain!

Our EXIT trampolines can endure rain. But please note: heavy downpour and snow can cause a large amount of weight to stay on top of the trampoline. Remove the water or snow in time so that the springs will not suffer and to prevent them from sagging.

This is exactly why the trampoline covers from EXIT Toys have drainage holes. These holes allow the rainwater to flow away. However, these holes can also clog up. Therefore, we advise you to keep a close eye on your trampoline during and after the rain.

(Heavy) winds and storm

When dealing with heavy winds, the trampoline should be anchored firmly into the ground. You can anchor the EXIT trampoline on poles with an anchor set from EXIT Toys. Is a big storm expected? Of course you don’t want your trampoline to tear or to be blown away! In that case storing it away is the safest option.

Trampoline and frost?

And when it starts to freeze? Then we advise you to store away the padding and the safety net (with tubes and all). These parts cannot withstand the freezing cold. Because the trampoline will hardly be used in the autumn and winter months we suggest you always store away these parts during this time. You will find more tips on this in the blog trampoline in autumn and winter.

Protect your trampoline

So EXIT trampolines can stay outside in all types of weather. But you can take special care to protect your trampoline against all it has to endure outside. For example, place it in a sheltered position in your garden, but do make sure you leave enough room around the trampoline when jumping on it. This means endless hours of carefree trampoline fun in all types of weather. In addition to that it is also wise to use a cover for when it is not going to be used for a while.
