How do i get my frame pool ready for winter?

How do I get my frame pool ready for winter?

After a full summer of fun swimming in the EXIT Toys frame pool, it is time to store the pool for autumn and winter. This prevents (frost) damage to the liner and the frame. But how do you disassemble your metal frame pool quickly and conveniently? EXIT knows all about it:

First things first: empty the frame pool

Following that final dive into the pool, it is time to empty, pack up and store it away in a dry place inside. Follow the EXIT step-by-step guide:

Warning! Do you have a sand filter pump? This pump has a special stand for pumping the water out. Unscrew the cap on the drain to set the pump to the "drain" position. The water will be pumped out of the pool in no time!

Step 1

Switch off the filter pump and unplug it from the mains.

Step 2

Remove the inlet and outlet filters, shut off the inlet and outlet ports on the filter pump inside the pool using the stoppers, and disconnect the hoses.

Step 3

Now fit the drain plug to the drain outlet by turning it clockwise.

Step 4

Connect the garden hose to the frame pool and make sure the water can flow away safely, for example into a gutter. By positioning the hose lower than the pool, you make sure the water can drain out of the pool completely.

Step 5

Is the frame pool empty? Then disconnect the hose and the connector, close off the drain inside using the stopper, and screw the cover back on.

Step 6

Is the frame pool completely empty? Then it's a good idea to clean the liner using cold or lukewarm water, pH neutral detergent and a soft sponge.

Disassemble and let it dry

Once the pool is empty and clean, it's time to take the pool apart and let it dry properly. Follow the EXIT step-by-step guide:

Step 1

Disconnect the leg poles from the pool.

Step 2

Disconnect the angled connectors from the frame.

Step 3

Now unthread the poles from the liner.

Step 4

Lay the liner out on the floor and dry it again using a cloth, or let the sun do its work.

Step 5

Also dry the poles and smaller parts thoroughly using a cloth, or leave them out in the sun.

Warning! If you don't let the pool dry thoroughly, there's a good chance that mould will grow while in storage. It is therefore very important that you let the pool dry thoroughly.

Disassembling the pool ladder

Do you have a ladder with your EXIT above ground frame pool? To disassemble it, follow the steps below:

Step 1

Unscrew the 4 top screws and remove the “handles” from the ladder.

Step 2

Depending on the type of ladder, unscrew either the connecting pieces (upper metal slats) or the platform. If necessary, you can gently hit the underside of the platform with a soft hammer.

Now you have two ladder halves that are easy to store! Tip from EXIT: put the nuts and bolts back in the holes so you don't lose them.

Away it goes!

Have you completed all previous steps in the EXIT step-by-step plan? Then it's time to put everything away.

Step 1

Gather up all screws and smaller parts together into a bag so that you can find them quickly again next year.

Step 2

Put the frame in an (original) box or wrap the frame in something like a ground sheet. EXIT Tip: to prevent damage to the frame you can use bubble wrap or old towels to put around the poles.

Step 3

Fold up the liner. EXIT Tip: sprinkle talcum powder over the pool liner so the material doesn't stick together.

Step 4

Store the pool and the pool ladder somewhere dry. By keeping the parts all together as a complete set, everything will be right at hand for putting the pool back together again next year.

Step 5

That's the job done, so relax, and before you know it, summer will be on its way again!
