Which padel strokes can I practice with the Smash padel rebounder?

With the EXIT Smash padel rebounder you can practice many different padel strokes. In this blog we're sharing a selection of 5 basic strokes that can be well-performed on this padel rebounder. So, grab your racket and bring your padel skills to the next level!

What do you need?

✔  The EXIT Smash Padel Rebounder

✔ A padel racket

✔  A padel ball

Getting ready to start

First, lets talk basics.

In a closed position, your shoulders are at an angle (of 90°) to the rebounder, in an open position the front of your body is turned towards the rebounder.

To receive a ball, you take on the basic position. Here you stand in an open position, light on your front feet with your knees slightly bent. The racket and your elbows are in front of your body with the racket facing forward at chest height. Hit the ball in front of your body between your knee and hip for an optimum ball speed.

Now that you have some background information it's time for the different strokes! Go ahead and put your EXIT Smash padel rebounder in place.

Stroke 1: forehand

Position: closed position - turned to the right for right-handed people/ turned to the left for those who are left-handed

Point of contact: right in front of your body – knee-/hip level

Put the tension of the top net of the padel rebounder in the looser position to allow the ball to bounce back. Stand about 6.5 feet away from the rebounder.

Hit the ball with a forehand with your right hand on the right side of your body. Are you left-handed? Then hit it with your left hand on the left side of your body.

Smash the ball into the middle of the rebounder's top net.

Now return to the basic position. The ball will bounce back. Quickly prepare your racket and body and again, hit the ball toward the padel rebounder with a forehand stroke.

Stroke 2: backhand

Position: closed position – turned left for right-handed persons / turned right for those who are left-handed

Point of contact: just in front of your body – knee/hip level

For this stroke, also keep the tension of the top net in the looser position as well, allowing the ball to bounce back. Stand about 6.5 feet away from the rebounder.

You hit the backhand with your right hand on the left side of your body. Are you left-handed? Then hit the ball with your left hand on the right side of your body.

Smash the ball into the middle of the rebounder's top net.

Return to the basic position. The ball will bounce back. Then with a backhand, smash the ball toward the rebounder.

Stroke 3: forehand volley

Position: open position

Point of contact: in front of your body

Change the tension of the top net of the padel rebounder to the tight position so the ball bounces back in an arc. Stand about 5 feet away from the rebounder.

Start in the open position. In preparation, turn the opposite shoulder to the ball. That means that in a forehand volley with your right hand, you turn your left shoulder towards the ball.

Move your racket backwards as little as possible. For the stroke, move the racket forward. Then hit the ball into the top net.

Return to the basic position by moving your shoulder back and holding your racket in front of you.

Stroke 4: backhand volley

Position: open position

Point of contact: in front of your body

Also for the backhand volley, keep the tension of the top net of the Smash padel rebounder tight, so the ball bounces back in an arc. Again, stand about 5 feet away from the rebounder.

Start in the open position. In preparation, you turn the same shoulder to the ball. That means that in a backhand volley with your right hand, you turn your right shoulder towards the ball.

Move your racket backwards as little as possible. For the stroke, move the racket forward. Then hit the ball into the top net.

Return to the basic position by moving your shoulder back and holding your racket in front of you.

Stroke 5: smash

Position: closed position

Point of contact: right in front of your body - above your head

Hit the ball overhand into the lower net of the Smash padel rebounder so the ball comes back to you well above your head.

Stand in a closed position with small side steps sufficiently behind the ball.

At the same time, bring your racket up, behind your body.

Let the ball come down and hit the ball above your head into the upper net of the padel rebounder.
